Bringing Out the Best

I can't seem to figure out how to make paragraph breaks.  I have them in there when I type, but they all disappear when I submit the copy.  Anybody who knows what to do, please tell me.

I've been thinking about ways we can help each other through this economic down-turn.  This is especially important to me because I have literally no income other than what I can occasionally sell on the Internet, at least until next March when I become old enough for Social Security Retirement.  And one of the things I thought about was the little fish symbols that used to be on so many Yellow Pages ads.  I haven't noticed whether they still do that, but it was supposed to tell Christians that they were dealing with other Christians, presumably with the idea it was easier for them to trust each other.  Now, I'm not proposing we do something like that, because in the end it might well turn away as many customers as it attracted.  But we could certainly use some way to deal with one another in business to the extent possible, so that we are helping our own.

I mentioned that my only possible income is from things I sell on the Internet.  They are mostly things I made myself or inherited from my late husband, or were mine but no longer useful to me.  First, there's Etsy, which is specific to hand-made things.  Then there is Google's new challenge to Craig's List, called BluJay, where I have listed everything that is decent to list for sale there, and which hasn't already been posted with Amazon.  So far on BluJay I have listed some old Tarot decks, some collectible dolls, and a relatively rare collectible old game.  You can find links to both of these, as well as plenty of other material, on my blog page, http://auntb93also.multiply.com which includes photographs of several of the things I have for sale, and also jpeg files which are copied from my Power Point presentations to the Forum.

I need to examine the rules of BluJay before I list the erotica I inherited from Steve.  It's very mild by today's standards, but I still want to check the rules.  It simply would not do for me to violate rules against pornography with these pictures which Steve referred to as Goddess photos.

The one more possible money-maker is that I am an Amazon associate.  On my blog page, I have posted a great many book and movie (i.e., DVD) reviews.  At the bottom of each review is a direct link to that product on Amazon.  If anyone uses that link to get to Amazon, whether or not they buy the thing I had reviewed, I get a commission on everything they buy.  So if there's something you want from Amazon, it would be a kindness to me if you went by way of my page.

In replies to this idea, I would encourage people to include links to their pages, because the more we become familiar with what is available, the more productive we all can be.  However, it is necessary to post only your general blog page here, so as to avoid violating the rules about commercial activities here.  Of course, on that blog page you can have whatever links that program permits.   It seems like a particularly effortless way to help one another.

What do you think?

Line breaks

The line break is a system problem. We'll see what we can do to fix it. I have gotten them to work in your post by changing the format to automatic line breaks.

What symbol to use

I liked toying with the idea of an ethical symbol akin to the fish. The fish with legs is one possibility but that is probably to limited - there is more to us than a pro-science stance.
